This fall my husband and I snuck away from the kids for a few days and camped at Nehalem Bay, in Manzanita, Oregon. It was one of those perfect autumn days at the coast where you feel lucky to be alive: clear skies, sun shining, and it was even warm. One evening we ate at this fabulous little restaurant right on the water, when the sun was setting. This painting is loosely based on that scene and the light over the bay at dusk.
